          For years I collected old Country music 78 rpm records. Many of these recordings contained ballads recorded by rural Appalachian musicians, that had been orally preserved in the hills for decades. Also featured is an overview of the earliest days of the recording industry and the influence of urban music (from mail order catalogues )that influenced generations of rural musicians.
